How Build With Me Works
A custom build with OhDavid follows a predictable structure. Here's what to expect from first conversation to handoff.
The Intro Call
Free · 25 min
A short conversation. Not a pitch — we figure out if there's actually a fit. You tell me what you're trying to do; I tell you whether Build With Me is the right service for it. If it's not, I'll tell you what is (sometimes that's a different OhDavid service, sometimes it's a different builder entirely).
The Scoping Session
Paid · 90 min · $275 (applied toward your fee)
If we're moving forward, the next step is a paid 90-minute scoping session. This is where we get specific: what you're actually building, who logs in, what success looks like 30/60/90 days post-launch, timeline, dependencies, anything that could block. You walk out with a written engagement brief. If you decide not to proceed, the brief is yours to take to another builder.
Engagement Starts
30% paid
To start the build, you sign a service agreement and pay 30% of the tier fee. This is your commitment; it's also when the calendar slot is locked. Once paid, the build queue clears for your project.
Build
2 to 8 weeks depending on tier
I build. Foundation: 2–3 weeks. Growth Engine: 3–5 weeks. Full Stack: 5–8 weeks. You see progress as it happens. We agree on an async check-in cadence (weekly is standard; faster on shorter projects). You give feedback in real time, not in big batch reviews.
Revisions
Structured rounds included
Each tier includes structured revision rounds — Foundation: 2 rounds, Growth Engine: 3 rounds, Full Stack: 4 rounds + 90 days of post-launch support. A "round" is a defined pass through the project where you flag changes and I implement them. Inline tweaks during the build don't count — those are part of normal collaboration.
Handoff
70% paid
When the build is ready and you've signed off, you pay the remaining 70%. You receive the code (full repo access), the content, the domain, every credential, and documentation on how to run, update, and extend it. You own everything. No vendor lock-in. No monthly platform fees. If you take the build elsewhere later, nothing stops you.
