Heal Better: building for a first-time founder

A whole brand world for a juice-and-elixir startup — and the referrals that came back around.

I met Bianca through the same wellness community a lot of good things have come out of — MeditationSocial, MUD\WTR, Joseph's orbit. She was starting Heal Better, a juice-and-elixir brand, her first real business. She had the product and the vision, but not the thing that makes it feel real to everyone else: a brand and a home online.

I built this one as a gift. Partly because I believed in her, partly because it was my first time designing for a physical product and I wanted to, and partly for a reason I'll just be honest about — Bianca is a genuine connector, the kind of person whose word travels. Helping her succeed was its own reward and also plain good sense.

We built Heal Better a whole brand world — an earth-to-fire palette, warm editorial type, something that felt the way the product tastes. Not a template with a logo dropped on top. A real identity, online, that matched the energy she brings in person.

Here's what I didn't fully expect: Bianca started sending people my way before her own site had even launched. That's the thing about doing good work for a real person in a real community — it doesn't stay contained. The build was for her; the referrals came back around.

You know what your business feels like. My job is to make everyone else feel it too — and when it lands, people notice, and they talk.
